Jane Felix-Brown - No Wedded Bliss in Cheshire

Josephine Gillis | General | Wednesday, 30 April 2008

zaina.gifJane Felix-Brown will not be bringing her young husband home to meet the kids and grandkids any time soon. He’s been banned from Britain.

An entry clearance office at the British Embassy in Cairo, has denied Omar Ossama bin Laden a Visa to enter England. The decision was made because officials felt his “exclusion from the United Kingdom is conducive to the public good”. Apparently there is still evidence that he is loyal to his father.

In the meantime Mr. and Mrs. Bin Laden plan to appeal the decision and Jane Felix-Brown, aka Zaina Alsabah bin Laden, awaits approval of her application to live in Egypt with her husband.

omar.gifOmar explains his desire to live in England:

“I want to come to England with my wife so she can be close to her children and grandchildren and she should also be near her hospital. The English are nice people and I am sure they will welcome me. People will understand I am not my father. I want to stop war, stop bombing and stop the killing.”

Poor, deluded young man, He thinks the English are nice people!

Tricia, Tricia, Tricia

Josephine Gillis | General | Tuesday, 29 April 2008

triciawalsh.gifTricia had her day in court yesterday and she has to find a new place to film her wild eyed rants, as she will no longer be able to do so in the Park Avenue apartment owned by her husband.

Talking to reporters, after the hearing, she said that she was surprised by all the media attention her YouTube videos have received and added: “If I had stabbed [my husband] to death, I don’t think it would have got as much press as me going online and saying, ‘My husband never bonks me.’”

Well, she has a point, although not one made with the best choice of words.

From the folks over at Daily Intel: “One can only hope that she starts broadcasting from her new YouTube-viewer-funded tent as soon as possible. If there’s anything that’ll make those eyes look any crazier, it’ll be the glow of a flashlight under enclosed nylon.”

Looking at the picture, taken yesterday, I think Tricia Walsh-Smith is exactly where she wants to be.

Tricia Walsh-Smith Does it Again

Josephine Gillis | General | Sunday, 27 April 2008

angrytricia.gif“Hell Hath no fury like a socialite who is about to be evicted from her plush digs and who can hire a video crew to tape her wild-eyed tirade against her soon-to-be ex-husband. ” So writes Jenice Armstrong over at Philly.com, after Tricia released her first video on YouTube earlier this month.

Now Tricia has posted a sequel to the aforementioned video. It’s hard to tell, through all the “Me, myself and I” parts of this tirade and the Tarot cards, but I think her point is that her husband is interfering with her ability to earn a living and she’s frustrated that so many doors are being closed to her. He is, after all, the President of the Shubert Organization and she a playwright. There. I’ve done my bit in trying to find something to be sympathetic about in Tricia Walsh-Smith’s plight, but that’s all I’ve got.

In my opinion, she would have done better serving this particular dish cold – not piping hot and psychotic on YouTube.

Nevada City Again

Josephine Gillis | General | Saturday, 19 April 2008

nevadacity.gifI returned home this Wednesday from yet another visit to Nevada City. Four full days in the foothills. No snow this time, as there was just a month ago when I visited, but beautiful, warm and sunny weather. It’s springtime in Nevada City and the dogwoods are in bloom. We spent time down by the river and did a lot of relaxing, eating, star gazing and chilling out in general.

Saturday night we had dinner at Lefty’s, a good burger restaurant right on the main street. If you’re familiar with Nevada City, Lefty’s Grill is where Citizen’s restaurant used to be. The hamburgers and fries are just what hamburger and fries should be. There’s your basic burger, cheeseburger and some other selections, including one called the Halitosis Burger, which I am sure was very good and came with garlic fries, but we stuck with good old American cheeseburgers and were not disappointed. The restaurant is small and we got there just before the normal dinner hour and were seated immediately. It’s a perfect spot to people watch, especially with the Mine Shaft Saloon directly across the street. It’s biker central on the weekends and rather colorful.

We walked around downtown after dinner, the streets were busy with tourists and I felt nostalgic for a past time, another life it seems now. I didn’t see any familiar faces and then I remembered that no self respecting local would be downtown on a Saturday milling with the tourists.

It still feels like home there.

Scorned Woman or Spiteful Bitch?

Josephine Gillis | General | Thursday, 17 April 2008

philipandtriciasmith.gifIs there a difference, you may wonder! During the first six months of being dumped, I believe there is an insanity that happens to most people, especially if there is foul play involved. That insanity can cause otherwise somewhat sane people to do insane things. Once you come out of CrazyLand, you’ll want to have a life to get on with, so it’s important not to make big decisions during that first six months, or maybe even the first year.

Tricia Walsh-Smith is the woman who used YouTube to air her divorce grievances. She’s 49 years old, not the best time to be starting over, but then again, certainly not the worst. She seems to have a lot going for her and a life to get on with living.

As you know, I’ve used the Internet to share my story and it’s certainly been a mixed bag. I was careful to make sure that the characters in my own story remained anonymous, but in spite of my efforts to spare the guilty, my ex and his companion jumped up and down on their own websites, yelling “hey, over here, it’s us she’s talking about”, making me think I must have portrayed them much too kindly.

Tricia Walsh-Smith is not bothering to spare anyone’s feelings. She’s pretty pissed off and she’s using YouTube as a way to inflict insult and injury upon her husband, Philip Smith and his family, in particular his daughter, the one she calls the “nasty, evil step-daughter”.

I don’t know what she expects to gain from this, but I think she’s made a mistake. Perhaps she was a nice woman before all this, but there’s not much evidence of it in the video. She doesn’t mention having loved her husband. She talks of money and possessions, so I think it’s her wallet that’s been broken, not her heart.

The Internet Movie Database shows that she has been married to Philip Smith, who is 25 years her senior, since 1999. She has one son, but presumably not by Mr. Smith, since there was no sex in the relationship, well, not mutual sex. Mr. Smith allegedly possessed condoms, Viagra and a porno movie collection.

The video could have been better, considering that she is an actress and a writer. The Tarot cards in the beginning of the video seem out of place and lose her some credibility. So, what’s the verdict? Scorned woman acting crazy out of heartbreak, or conniving gold digger, pissed off at how the finances played out? At the very least, I think that Philip Smith now has grounds for divorce.

Jesse Spencer on Electric Violin

Josephine Gillis | General | Thursday, 10 April 2008

jessespencerviolin.gifAmerican Idol Gives Back was a star studded extravaganza. They did a much better job on this special, than last year’s production and, in between all the serious stuff, it was pretty entertaining.

I enjoyed the little skit with Teri Hatcher, James Denton and Carrie Underwood that segued into the musical number performed by Teri and The Band from TV, which included Jesse Spencer on the violin. The electric violin. The highlight of the show, as far as I am concerned.

The Australian actor, who plays Dr. Robert Chase on House M.D., has been playing the violin since the age of ten. He currently plays in The Band from TV, who backed up Ms. Hatcher during her performance of Carrie Underwood’s hit song, Before He Cheats.

For more on American Idol Gives Back and the video of Teri’s performance you can go over to Blogging Idol.

Paula’s Chihuahuas

Josephine Gillis | General | Wednesday, 09 April 2008

paulaschihuahuas.gifIf you’ve been watching American Idol, you’re probably disappointed in Paula this season. She seems rather sober. But Last night she was packed into a little strapless number and actually said, in her critique of Michael Johns, “”you sound as good as you look and the high notes that you hit, I think my Chihuahuas are going to come join you on stage”. Now that’s the Paula Abdul we know and love. You can read more about it and see the video over at Blogging Idol.

A No Brainer - Andy Roddick and Brooklyn Decker

Josephine Gillis | General, Love or Lust? | Tuesday, 01 April 2008

brooklyndecker.gifI resisted calling this piece Dumb and Dumber, because in all fairness, I don’t know anything about Brooklyn Decker and had never heard of her before she became engaged to tennis star Andy Roddick.

The story goes, according to rumor, that Andy courted Brooklyn in true Hollywood style. He saw her picture in the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated and had his agent track down her phone number. Doesn’t that just give you a case of the warm fuzzies? It’s almost, almost, as romantic as Heidi Klum seeing Seal in his bicycle shorts and falling for his package.

Brooklyn Decker is a 20 year old swimsuit model and she and Andy Roddick might actually be a good match. He’s probably not interested in her for her brain….. not now, not ever. The couple became engaged in early March and plan to enjoy a lengthy engagement.

The cynic in me fast forwards to when he’s not a top tennis star and she doesn’t have a swimsuit figure. Will they still care for one another, when they are not a couple of “hotties”? Time will tell.

If you don’t know much about Andy Roddick, beyond his tennis playing, here’s a glimpse:
