You stabbed me in the back and I thought I would die.
I did not.
I gathered strength and removed the knife.
I made the long journey to your door and offered you the knife, as a sign of trust.
I knew you would wish to take it back.
You looked into my soul and asked for my forgiveness.
I forgave you.
Holding my gaze you plunged the knife into my heart and noting the look of shock, gave it that extra little twist.
“How did that feel?” you asked, pleased that you had caught me by surprise a second time.
“Not so good” I replied as the color drained from my face.
“Well… next time you’re in L.A., look me up. We’ll do lunch.”
I’m trying to ease back in to updating here at 10086 Sunset Boulevard on more a regular basis. So what’s on my mind today? Chocolate and Chocolate is in the news. I’ve often dreamed of drowning in a vat of chocolate - not literally drowning, just getting my fill of chocolate, which I don’t believe is possible. I NEED chocolate and I just can’t get enough.
Darmin Garcia lived the dream. After simmering in a vat of the heavenly elixir for over two hours he might have had enough. It was in his mouth, his eyes, his ears and in his….. well, it was everywhere. Not quite the religious experience some of us chocoholics would imagine it to be.
Over at Bodega Chocolates in Fountain Valley, California some people believe they are having religious experience. Workers there believe they have found the image of the Virgin Mary in the chocolate drippings. Go take a look here and see if you see it too. I think it looks like a bird or a lump of chocolate or maybe a marketing ploy.

The best part of putting together a diet book is creating the dishes for the recipe section. Unless of course you get so carried away with the great healthy dishes you are creating that you take a little detour and gain back a few pounds….
This morning I took a drive out to Suisun Valley, driving past the vineyards, past the fields of sunflowers and out to Larry’s Produce stand where I can be sure to get a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables for the recipes I’m working on. It’s my favorite place to shop for produce and it’s never dull there. I thought getting an early start to the day would mean that I would miss the crowds, but produce shopping was well underway by the time I arrived.
Larry’s is a large covered stand that smells of fresh cilantro. You can grab a bucket to carry your produce in or if you are really feeling ambitious you can load up a wheelbarrow.
I filled a bucket up with red onions, mushrooms, cauliflower, radishes, tomatoes, corn and nectarines. Next time I’ll be more adventurous and try out some of the red hot chili peppers and maybe even some cactus fruit. Anyone have a low carb cactus fruit recipe?
